Why Do So Many Anime Have Reakky Annoying Characters?

As a wise prophet once said, "No one is perfect, you live and you learn it".

So for every badass graphic symbol that you simply want to run into every day, there'south bound to be a character that's on the other side of that chart.

A character you merely want to shoo away similar a fly.

And that'southward what we're going over in our ranking: those annoying anime characters that make us want to pull our hair out, or fifty-fifty drop an entire show, simply to avoid seeing them.

twenty. Emma

Emma from The Promised Neverland anime

Anime: The Promised Neverland

I honestly had no real problems with Emma in the get-go season. In fact, she was kind of dope.

But in the second season she represented absolutely everything that had gone wrong with the bear witness.

She mastered a level of talk no jutsu that even Naruto couldn't achieve. And she just walked around making everyone abide by her volition with only a few words.

Although I saw where she was coming from, her blinding idealism was just annoying as hell.

Of a sudden, demons are our friends and conflict is bad and revenge is pointless.

She sucked all of the tension and action from an already boring second flavour, which is why I hated seeing her on screen.

xix. Malty Melromarc

Malty Melromarc in The Rising of the Shield Hero

Anime: The Rise of the Shield Hero

Malty is merely the reincarnation of the devil.

I go that the Shield Hero is historically not very liked, but why does she push it to such extremes?

Fourth dimension and time over again, whenever she's on screen, yous but know she'south going to do her best to piss the protagonist (and the audience) off, without ever showing any conceivable motives for doing then.

The fact that she also had the Simp Hero at her side merely made it worse. And the un-dynamic duo was easily the near infuriating function of the entire serial.

18. Gabi

Gabi Attack on Titan anime screenshot

Anime: Attack on Titan

I honestly didn't like Eren initially.

He was extremely loud, got angry about absolutely everything, and constantly acted like the earth owed him something.

And if not that, he was just crying most life and being a downer.

Nonetheless, every bit the season progressed, he got a lot of character development, ultimately condign one of the coolest dudes in the series.

Merely then Gabi came along having the exact same bad qualities, without any chances of redemption.

I'll give her props though, as she'south a capable warrior. But screaming almost every fourth dimension you're on screen and having no regards for other's emotions get old super rapidly.

17. Sakura Haruno

Sakura Haruno in Naruto anime

Anime: Naruto

Antisocial Sakura is the glue that binds all Naruto fans together.

She started off equally your typical violence grapheme classic, and only managed to go more than abrasive from that bespeak on.

Her obsession with Sasuke was tiresome on so many levels. And her many monologues about how she'due south going to catch up to Naruto and Sasuke felt like a blast was being drilled into my head.

How tin you talk such a big talk when your only feats in the series were biting someone's hand, and betting a dude who had given up on life while you were supported by a person specifically written to counter them?

16. Boruto Uzumaki

Boruto Uzumaki from Boruto anime

Anime: Boruto

If the Naruto serial never happened, Boruto would exist somewhat alright, I gauge.

Simply since we all basically grew up with Naruto, Boruto comes off every bit the near spoiled child to have ever lived.

He has the nerve to phone call Naruto a bad father because he missed a birthday, without e'er asking nearly how that so chosen "bad begetter" spent his entire youth.

He has and then much latent talent, and nevertheless he resorts to cheating(while confronting his all-time friend no less) in lodge to prove some kind of a point… Why?

This is the exact opposite of everything that made Naruto so likable in the first place.

15. Eris Boreas Greyrat

Eris Boreas Greyrat from Jobless Reincarnation

Anime: Jobless Reincarnation

I can't say that Eris is a desperately written character, as spoiled children simply tend to cease up like this.

Just human did I want to punch her through the screen.

She's the loudest, nearly proud little brat who sees nothing wrong with punching people but considering y'all tin.

Even the serial acknowledges that no sane person would always terminal more than a calendar week equally her tutor.

She does get a lot meliorate subsequently on in the series. Just the fact remains that I cheered when a child got her teeth kicked in, so she obviously awakened some deep hatred from inside of me.

14. Eva Heinemann

Eva Heinemann in Monster anime

Anime: Monster

Yous cannot deny that Eva has the about punchable face you have always seen.

From the very commencement she's setup equally hateable, every bit she literally claims that some lives are worth more than others.

And she shows no compassion to the people affected, and then even has the nerve to play the victim bill of fare once Tenma dumps her toxic self.

She then goes on to seek out other men, and somehow manages to spiral upwardly each and every 1 of their relationships, assertive that she'southward the well-nigh important person on this planet.

All of this is just scratching the surface, mind you.

13. Yukiteru Amano

Yukiteru Amano in Mirai Nikki anime

Anime: Mirai Nikki

Yuki only did not vest in this show.

About anybody involved with Mirai Nikki is some sort of psychopath, Yuno beingness the virtually obvious 1. And Yuki'southward constant crying really soils the whole "edgy thriller vibe" the show had.

I get showcasing him as a sensitive person at first so that his change into a badass could be more epic.

But it just took style too long.

I only got sick of seeing him cry and whine over and again.

If I wanted to run across a teenager cry all day, I would look back at my own childhood.

12. Zenitsu Agatsuma

Zenitsu Agatsuma from Demon Slayer anime

Anime: Demon Slayer

With Zenitsu, it's a huge hit or miss situation.

His character is built equally such that he whines, cries, and screams almost constantly, with large flashy badass moments sprinkled throughout his screen time.

And so you lot either find him funny and tin't wait for his next fight, or you think he's an absolute annoyance and tin can't wait for his next fight.

I really don't mind him. Just I do know a few people who dropped the prove just because of how annoying he was.

And if yous're willing to drop a master-class anime like Demon Slayer, your reasoning must exist really strong.

11. Shaiapouf

Shaiapouf in Hunter x Hunter anime

Anime: Hunter x Hunter

Shaiapouf is only extremely toxic.

I get that the Royal Guards were literally brought into this world in club to serve King. But this dude just takes is way too far.

He's constantly sporting that attitude of "I know what'southward healthy better than anyone else".

And that alone makes me want to push him off a cliff.

His manipulating schemes never really disappear throughout the show. And he's the merely Regal Guard that seemingly had no other personality traits aside those dedicated to Meruem.

Certain, he fabricated the plot a lot more enticing. Merely I still hated seeing his stupid butterfly face on screen.

10. Nina Einstein

Nina Einstein Code Geass anime screenshot

Anime: Lawmaking Geass

Anime generally likes to romanticize the idea of being obsessed with someone. And Nina is a prime case of why that'southward toxic as hell.

She went from "just some background character" to "please choke on your own saliva" really apace. And her meltdowns didn't help her case at all.

Wanting to murder hundreds of innocent people is not very cash money to begin with. But when y'all add the fact that it came out of such a stupid and shallow motive as a mere obsession, information technology just becomes detestable.

9. Minerou Mineta

Minerou Mineta from My Hero Academia anime

Anime: My Hero Academia

Pervert characters are always walking a sparse line between being relatable, and being an accented nuisance.

On the one manus you take dudes like Meliodas, who still have plenty of cool actions scenes and a backstory that explains their open allure with their dear interest.

And on the other mitt you accept Mineta, a diaper-wearing freak who became a hero merely considering he believed he could get chicks that way.

The fact that he's also rather useless only further showcases what a replaceable character he truly is.

8. Seryuu Ubiquitous

Seryuu Ubiquitous in Akame ga Kill! anime

Anime: Akame ga Kill!

Seryuu is just a self-righteous prick that likes screaming likewise much.

The whole point of Akame ga Kill is to take a morally ambiguous cast where neither side is truly in the incorrect.

In contrast to how well this was done with Bols, Seryuu but came off as a demon.

Whenever she saw someone who was a supposed enemy, she would blow her top and just start screaming encarmine murder while doing her best to murder that person.

Ah yeah, truly a vigilante.

The closer she came to existence a cyborg, the worse she became. And her demon puppy was wasted potential.

seven. Shinji Ikari

Shinji Ikari from Neon Genesis Evangelion anime

Anime: Neon Genesis Evangelion

I don't know whether you've caught on nonetheless, just I actually hate whiney characters.

Shinji is the male monarch of the whine, and has had so many depression sessions that he even put Tumblr to shame.

Everyone in Evangelion is a flake messed up in the head. Which is fifty-fifty the evidence's selling point to an extent.

But Shinji is simply as well much to handle.

I get doubting yourself from fourth dimension to fourth dimension. But when that's all you exercise and you're the protagonist, yous cannot expect me to take whatsoever more than sympathy left.

6. Asta

Asta from Black Clover anime

Anime: Blackness Clover

I honestly think that Asta about killed this entire show.

If you were enlightened of Black Clover at the time it beginning aired, you know merely how much turmoil Asta created. His voice was amid the almost abrasive sounds to have ever been heard on planet Globe, and his insistence to scream every word that he says did him no favors either.

It took the customs quite a while to go over this massive auditory hurdle.

And I honestly call up that if it had persisted for a while longer, Dark Clover would have been dumped and forgotten.

So fifty-fifty though they fixed Asta, we must always call back the damage he could have inflicted.

5. Haruhi Suzumiya

Haruhi Suzumiya in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Anime: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

I never really understood why people liked Haruhi so much.

She's 1 of the most selfish and inconsiderate characters I've seen in my unabridged life. Everything always has to go her fashion! And I mean that in the truest meaning, since she's besides a god for some reason.

She pushes everyone effectually, shows little to no appreciation for the people that have to put upwardly with her, and constantly abuses her friends who are probably merely terrified of her power.

I mean, just look at poor Mikuru! The amount of harassment she's received tops even some ecchi shows.

4. Aloise Trancy

Aloise Trancy from Black Butler II

Anime: Black Butler II

Yous know how they say yous can tell a lot nigh a person by the way they treat waiters/waitresses?

Aloise fails this decency test on and so many levels, it'southward pathetic.

The dude total-on abuses his staff, both physically and mentally, and acts like a pompous prick every chance he gets.

He'southward more spoiled than a tuna sandwich on a tin can roof in Arizona during the summertime.

Plus, unlike a few other characters on this list, I cannot detect a unmarried redeeming quality about this dude.

I have never in one case felt sympathy for him in the testify, and I probably never will.

iii. Shigekiyo Yangu

Shigekiyo Yangu in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable

Anime: JoJo'south Bizarre Gamble: Diamond is Unbreakable

JoJo has some of the most unique, interesting, and badass characters in all of anime.

Simply it besides has this spikey caput bug-looking thing.

He has 2 chief modes in the serial: He's either calm and happy, which is when he just comes off equally extremely stupid, or he acts like a watered-down penny pincher, which is when I want to turn the episode off.

The dude is just extremely abrasive. And every fourth dimension he starts scheming on how to earn more money, I become one step closer to communism.

2. Misa Amane

Misa Amane from Death Note anime

Anime: Decease Notation

I find Misa annoying because she's such a huge waste of potential.

Introducing some other Death Note wielder could have taken the show to even greater heights than information technology had already achieved.

Just no.

We just become your stereotypical "my love involvement dictates my unabridged personality" character.

They could have at to the lowest degree fabricated her extremely smart or something, instead of just giving Light a lap domestic dog in the form of a female character.

It was disappointing, and she brought nothing positive to the serial. What could have been…

ane. Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière

Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière in The Familiar of Zero anime

Anime: The Familiar of Zero

Maybe Mrs Long Name grew on some of you.

But I hated her until the bitter end.

Whenever she was on screen, I could merely await either a prideful boast, or an act of violence towards someone who did nothing wrong – making her painfully tiresome and annoying.

I'll never understand how such a character even comes into beingness, as they're always a one-note train wreck that offers less than nothing to the general plot.

If she was a side graphic symbol, mayhap it wouldn't have been equally bad. Simply as it stands right now, I hate her guts.

Honorable Mention: Hercule Satan

Hercule Satan from Dragon Ball Z anime

Anime: Dragon Ball Z

Hercule just overstayed his welcome, in my opinion.

I won't add him to the list necessarily, but he does deserve a mention somewhere in here.

The concept of a completely average dude trying to mingle with the Z fighters and claiming their success as his own was honestly not bad.

But the dude only got way as well much screen time.

When you accept such a limited character type and requite them long intervals of screen time, it just does non work well.

The Cell Saga was the worse off in my stance, as the joke got onetime super quickly, and I only ended up hating Hercule every bit a result.

He got a fleck amend later on. Just I'k just disappointed they couldn't use him finer, similar the abridged series did for example.
